The Golden Girls' most recent feature film "Eismayer" (David Wagner) celebrated its world premiere in Venice at the International Film Critics’ Week 2022, where it won the main prize for Best Feature Film. Since then, the film has been invited to many renowned film festivals all over the world and has won awards such as Les Arcs, FFMOP and Diagonale.
“Fox in a Hole” (Arman T. Riahi) won over 14 international awards including the Main Award “Golden Olive Tree” at Festival del Cinema Europeo, a German Acting Award & a Romy for Maria Hofstätter such as awards at Fünf Seen Film Festival, Max Ophüls, Diagonale, Biberacher Film Festival, Günter Rohrbach Award and was the opening film of DIAGONALE’21. The co-production “Once Upon a Time in Venezuela” (Anabel Ríos Rodríguez) premiered at Sundance, was Venezuelas official Oscar-entry and won festival awards all over the world, such as Best Film @ Hot Springs Film Festival.
In 2019 our co-production „Born in Evin“ (Maryam Zaree) won the Berlinale Perspektive Compass Award and our French/Chech/Argentinian co-production “Solo” (Artemio Benki) premiered at Cannes Film Festival. In the same year “Cops” (Istvan) received three Austrian Film Awards and was successful at DIAGONALE’18, Film Festival Max Ophüls Preis and FIPA 31st Edition Biarritz.
Our music documentary “Kinders”, (Riahi Brothers) got the Special Jury Award at the Sarajevo Film Festival 2017, our fiction film “One of us” (Stephan Richter) won the Max Ophüls Award and premiered 2015 in San Sebastian.
In 2017 our co-production with Zischlermann „The Eremits“ (Ronny Trocker), which premiered at the Orizzonti Section of the Venice Film Festival, was one of five films nominated as discovery of the year at the European Film Awards. In 2017 we also released the multiaward winning feature „The Migrumpies“, which became Austrias 3rd most successful boxoffice hit of the year.
Our pioneering cross-media documentary “Everyday Rebellion” (Riahi Brothers) was Austria’s most successful film at festivals in 2014 with more than 50 invitations. Furthermore the fictional debut of Arash T. Riahi (Wega Film & Les Films du Losange) “For a moment freedom” was Austria’s Academy Award entry 2010.
And all the while the selective development of emotional realities, which are the core of each piece of work, remains in the forefront. This approach to the media of film, television and radio is what makes Golden Girls a team which is quite capable of accepting the most varied challenges.
